Hostgator vs Bluehost : Which one is actually better?
On April 05, 2009, I registered a baby account with Hostgator.com. Two months later, on June 17, 2009, I tried Bluehost.com to host my other domains. Back then, everything was smooth and easy, these two hosting sites were dominant players in the industry. You cannot feel any difference in terms of performance and user experience whenever these hosting sites are mentioned.
Little did I know, Bluehost shut down my account and deleted all of my database on it because I failed to pay 3 months of hosting dues. Unlike Bluehost, Hostgator didn’t delete my database, they allowed me to continue to use their service upon payment of all my dues. I updated my credit card details on Hostgator.com and paid my debt. Up to now, I am still a loyal customer of this hosting provider. I discontinued to use Bluehost.com as my hosting provider and transferred all of my domains to Hostgator.com.
Conclusion
I will not give a negative rating to Bluehost. However, they didn’t delete my database for all of my domains hosted on them. They should have at least given any of their customers at least 6 months to settle their obligation before they do such an act. I am not sure if they still practice this unfair act.
Surely, Hostgator is the clear winner for me.
