The lifespan of earphones usually last 2 years. You can extend its use by handling it with great care.
Here are the simple ways how to take care of your earphones. It can also be applied to your existing headphone, airpods or earbuds:
- Get a good case for it. Having a good casing or housing can secure your phone from dirt and entanglement of cords/cable.
- Don’t pull the wires. The wires may eventually break if you pull it from the wire itself and not from the plugin jack when removing your earphone from your phone or audio device.
- Don’t fold or wrap the cable too much. Wrapping the cable too much and more often will speed up the deterioration of the cable insulation and integrity of the wire conductors.
- Avoid dropping It. Dropping your earphone might affect the sound quality and even destroy the ear piece.
- Don’t bite the wires. Some people bite the cable intentionally without any reason. It is addictive to some, so be aware of it.
- Protect it from toddlers and pets. Cat and dogs usually play with this kind of stuff. Toddlers also consider this as a toy, so as a precaution, put it away from them.
